Provision of VFR charts edition 1-2024

Provision of VFR charts edition 1-2024

SIA will not be able to provide all paper VFR charts for the effective date of 18 April 2024. As a result :

- The 1:500,000 charts (aka ICAO charts) are currently being finalised and should not be delayed.

- The 1:1,000,000 charts and the charts complements will be available before the entry into force date of 18 April 2024.

- Finally, the 1:250,000 charts will not be available before the end of April 2024.

All the VFR documents (charts and complements) will be available in PDF format a few days before, as free downloads from SIA webshop.

We are doing our best to meet the dates mentioned and we apologise for the inconvenience.

Update of the AIP Viewer on the SIA website

Update of the AIP Viewer on the SIA website

Implemented last July, the AIP viewer allows dynamic filtering and consultation on a cartographic background of aeronautical information published in the eAIP.

VAIP is evolving and now includes the new following features:

 - Possibility of clicking in the middle of an airspace to display its information.

- Highlighting the selected element (airspace, zone, VFR point, VOR, obstacle, aerodrome and heliport).

- Added a Pop-in with more information for VFR points and VORs.

- Improved the borders display for the concerned airspaces.

- Added the type of airspace to its label.

- Improved display of overlapping airspace labels.

- Taking active filters into account in the search function.

- Other small fixes, particularly technical ones, to prepare for future releases.

We hope you find these improvements useful. Several other features are still under study or in development, you can contribute by sending us your comments and suggestions (https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/contact, AIP Visualizer section).
